The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is home to just over 800 year-around residents. The Town is nestled among the Elk Mountains, with the East River to the northeast and Gothic Mountain and Paradise Divide to the north and Kebler Pass to the west. Our namesake mountain rises just above town to a height of 12,162 feet. This unique setting affords some of the most breathtaking vistas in Colorado.

Summer 2018 Admissions Tax Grants

The Town Council of Mt. Crested Butte will be accepting Admissions Tax  Marketing grant requests for the Summer of 2018. You may mail your requests to Town of Mt. Crested Butte, P.O. Box 5800, Mt. Crested Butte, CO 81225-5800 or drop them by the Mt. Crested Butte Town Hall, 911 Gothic Road through 5pm on February 28, 2018. Mail requests must be received by February 28th (regardless of postmark) or they will not be accepted. All applicants who submit a request may attend the March 20, 2018 Council Meeting at 6:00pm in which the grant committee will make their recommendations. Please look over the application fully as this grant is specific for marketing and events with an impact in Mt. Crested Butte. You may obtain an application here.

The History of the Crested Butte Area will be taught by Duane Vandenbusche at the Crested Butte Community School beginning on February 1. The class will meet every Thursday evening from 7:00-8:30 P.M. with the last class on April 19. The class covers coal mining camps and will include 3 slide shows on skiing, railroads and mining. 2018 Trash Increase
